Your questions answered

What can I expect during treatment?

Chiropractic care mainly involves treatment by manipulation to the joints of the spine or other areas of the body. Most often this involves a short impulse to the joint bringing an easing of symptoms. Before any procedure is undertaken your chiropractor will inform you of what to expect and your chiropractor may use a wide variety of techniques including muscle work, the use of ice and exercises to help you on your road to recovery.

Unfortunately we do not take private insurance and request that you settle your account at the time of treatment. Some providers may reimburse the patient directly, if you think this may be the case, please contact your insurance provider for details of your policy.

The frequency of care varies for several different reasons:

  • The severity of your symptoms.
  • The length of time you have been suffering.
  • Whether an injury caused your condition.
  • Your occupation and activities.
  • If you have underlying condition.
  • Your hobbies and lifestyle.
  • Degree of stress and anxiety.
  • General health and fitness.
  • Your diet and lifestyle.

You do not need a GP referral to book an appointment with us.

The chiropractor will carry out a full assessment on your first visit and discuss with you your symptoms and medical history. Each patient is different but treatment can take place on the first visit, if appropriate.

Your initial appointment will last between 30-45 minutes for us to complete a full examination and develop a treatment plan.

A regular follow-up treatment visit may require just 10 to 15 minutes. Please don’t think the brevity of your appointment lessens its value! With the groundwork laid, we can quickly assess the condition of your spine and your current problem and adjust you so you can get back to your activities quicker.

Like a regular workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. Missed visits can interfere with your overall recovery, so please do try to schedule your appointments as recommended. We want you to get better quicker.
